Magna Finca Malbec

2017

The Wine

Magna Finca expresses the exclusivity that emerges from a property with unmatched characteristics. Finca La Anita was the first wine producer to establish itself in the coveted Agrelo area in 1991. As such, we understand how to take advantage of the earth’s resources to achieve exceptional results. Dedication and love are applied from the vineyards to each bottle to convey the identity of our terroir.

Vintage Overview

After the 2016 Harvest, the coldest in three decades due to the El Niño phenomenon, 2017 was drier and slightly colder than usual with spring frosts. This resulted in reduced yields.

Winemaking

Harvest is done by hand in plastic boxes of 20 kilos from late March to early April. Then, a cold maceration to preserve primary aromas is performed. Alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts at 25 Celsius degrees. Aged in French oak barrels for 24 months.

Tasting Note

Intense red with violet hues, this Malbec is a mixture of elegance, sophistication and robustness.  A modern wine which expresses plenty of varietal fruit. A complex, intense nose with eucalyptus and pepper. Plummy red fruits on the palate with a touch of black pepper tobacco and chocolate from the oak. A filll-bodied, balanced and structured wine.
